One of the great things about living in a subdivision is the joining backyards and nextdoor neighbors! Austin loves to play at our neighbor Drew's house and with their dog Mulligan. Drew is about a month older than Austin and it is always fun getting the two of them together. I am excited to see how their friendship grows.

Brooke
When working with children, I try to gently lead them to do what I want them to do next. I will ask, "Can you lay on your belly? Can you sit cross legged?".... you get the idea. Brooke was more than willing to look pretty, but had her own ideas about posing. More than once, I asked her to do something, she would pause to think about it, then tell me with a smile "No. I don't really want to." She was so cute. Not that any amount of posing would change how adorable she is naturally!
Cole
When friends of ours were visiting from Arizona, I was thrilled to be able to spend some time with them and take pictures of their awesome kids. These two are so funny and very photogenic. Cole made me laugh all throughout the session with some hilarious faces, and his amazing willingness to pose. I can only hope our son Austin will be like that when he is older!

Kay & Mike
Kay and Mike are getting married next weekend in Wixom. It was a lot of fun getting to know them during their engagement session. One of the things I love about these sessions is the opportunity for couples to get to know my style, and for me to get to know how comfortable they are in front of the camera, the chemistry of the couple and it is a bit more relaxed then the wedding day. I am so excited to see these two again, and wish them the best of luck this week putting together all the final details!

Leesa's Maternity Session
Our beautiful friend Leesa and her family stopped in to have maternity portraits taken a few weeks before the arrival of their second son, Tyler. He is due any day now, and I cannot wait to meet him! (I am even going up to the hospital to help capture his birth, at least the things you want to remember :) Leesa and Matt already have their hands full with Noah.. He is the most energetic little boy I think I have ever met. He will definitely be some kind of athlete, and I am sure little brother will be right there with him!

Abby
So Abby was not the biggest fan of being naked... She did great and was pretty happy during most of the session and even fell asleep for a few of my favorite shots ever. The last two images were just after she fell asleep, and her little hands look so sweet tucked under her face. One week old is such a great time for newborn images, she curled up so nice! Congratulations Steve and Amy, she is beautiful.
Tabitha
Tabitha made me feel so special! She is the happiest little one year old girl and was so quick to smile and laugh that I just fell in love with her. In this last image, you can just see the tips of her two front teeth poking through. After the outdoor part of her session, she walked right up to me and held up her arms for me to pick her up. It was so sweet!

Kaylee & Jon's Wedding
With wedding season in full swing, I took a bit longer than usual to post the images from this wedding. It was so hard to pick my favorites! Jon and Kaylee had a very romantic and personal wedding at Holt United Methodist Church, followed by a reception at Eagle Eye in Bath. Although we started the day with rain, the sky cleared up long enough for travel and some amazing outdoor images at the course. When dinner was served, the rain started and it was the heaviest storm I have ever seen in my life. We drove home going about 35 miles an hour, due to visibility and the crazy lightning. I am glad we were so lucky with the weather! Congratulations Kaylee & Jon!
