Newborn Nolan

Nolan was the most perfect newborn model ever. He opened his eyes for family portraits, snuggled in our little basket, and fell fast asleep. I love his long little fingers and adorable feet. Big brother Logan was fantastic as well, he did take a few breaks to play with the race track we had in the basement, but otherwise he was the perfect little participant. At the end of our session I told Nicole that they had better leave, or I would just keep taking pictures of this sweet little guy all night. Sometimes I have a hard time editing and narrowing down my favorite images, and it really was for this session! Welcome Nolan, congratulations Wesley & Nicole!

Bowden Boys

Becky is vastly out numbered in the Bowden family. Her adorable boys had me laughing pretty much non-stop this entire session. Elijah (the baby) is six months old and has the cutest toothless smile, while his big brother Silas' teeth have started to fall out. Issac on the other hand was running all over the place and earned a few additional scrapes to his collection while we were at the gardens. He is lucky to still have teeth at all! Hopefully the promise of ice cream following the session healed his wounds, and bought back a little quiet to the night!

Emmons Family

Michigan weather has been pretty fantastic this year. We have had a bit of rain during the last few weeks, but otherwise it has been beautiful! I met up with the Emmons family on a Sunday evening at the MSU gardens. It is always so great to visit with this family, I feel like as soon as we met we were fast friends, and I love that my job keeps them coming back! Michael is a couple weeks younger than our son Austin, so it is great to see how similar they are, and how hilarious one and a half year old boys can be!

Carmen

When photographing babies, our studio is a nice warm 100 degrees. Ok, not technically, but we warm it up, wear black, long sleeve shirts and expect you to chase your oldest, feed, clothe and sooth the baby, oh and look beautiful... Stephanie and Ryan had no problem at all looking beautiful and Carmen is such a sweet little thing. Bo is such a proud big brother, and was so cute during this session. Welcome Carmen!

Nathan & Emily

Emily and Nathan have a special place in our hearts. We first met this fantastic couple while working with the high school youth program at our church. These two were so much fun to be around, and I felt blessed to be part of their regional group. As years passed, we photographed Emily's senior portraits, her sister's wedding, portraits of her brothers and now her wedding too! I am so excited to see this couple married, I know they will have a marriage built firmly on faith and grounded in love. Congratulations on your engagement!

Nora

Nora is my first out-of-state newborn client!! I was so happy to hear that Jada, a high school friend of mine, was visiting Michigan and wanted to stop in for pictures of her beautiful little girl, Nora. They drove from Virginia to stay for a few days, visit family and attend a wedding. I am so glad they decided to stop in! Nora is beautiful and just makes me want to kiss her cute little cheeks! Hopefully all the travel was worth it, and the next time they are in town, we will be able to meet up again. Thanks so much!

Asher

Asher is one of the tallest one year olds I have worked with. He is adorable, practically running everywhere, and has this hilarious look of mischief that I love! The top image is one of my favorite black and whites this year. I feel like his eyes are magnetic and just draw you right in. I fell so blessed to call his mom my friend, she is so intellegent, always has great stories and also a fantastic blog!
