Emma's Third Month

Emma is really starting to show her little personality! She is full of smiles and giggles, as well as a few words! (Well, they are not word yet, but I am sure we will be able to understand her sooner or later!) Also, I love crazy baby hair. Love it. I wish as adults we could have soft, fluffy hair that we rarely have to brush, and when it stands on end is cuter than when we brush it. Ahhh, a girl can dream....

Our Little Spartan Fan

As many of you know, my husband and I are both Michigan State Alums. We love our school and are very excited for how well they are doing in the NCAA Tournament. I thought it would be fun to share our little Spartan Fan with you!

Creative Development Sessions

Kristy Photography is looking for volunteers to help with a few creative development sessions this spring. We are always looking for new ways to challenge ourselves and offer new products and cutting edge portraiture to our clients. Sessions will be free of charge and will concentrate on a particular pose, product or look that we are developing. (If time allows, we will also take a few portraits for each client.) Participants will also receive a 15% discount on any prints ordered from the session. If you or someone you know would like to participate in any of the following opportunities, please email us at kristyandbrent@kristyphotography or call 517-980-4600. Creative Development Sessions will be scheduled on Monday or Tuesday afternoons or evenings.

Current Creative Development Opportunities –
1. 9-12 year old girl for pettiskirt portraits.
2. Newborn twins (6 days to 5 weeks old) for portfolio development and trial posing.
3. Couple (newly married, in the last two years) for a portrait session including ‘Trash the Dress' images where your dress will get dirty or wet. You can use your dress or we can purchase one. Groom can wear a suit, or white shirt and dress slacks.
4. Couple for romantic portraiture. (In studio)
5. Group of high school girls in formal attire (prom or homecoming dresses) for outdoor session and indoor session for Prom trial set up.

We are also looking for the following location for a session. If you know someone who would be willing to let us use their home or property for a shoot, we would really appreciate it!!

Farm with barn, rustic in appearance, hay loft, fields (Within a 30-40min drive from Lansing)

We feel so blessed to have such amazing clients and we look forward to working with you on these fun and creative projects!

Sweet Sage

What can I say about sweet little Sage that isn't already in these images? She is a beautiful, easy going girl with the most adorable pout I have ever seen! At four months old, she really had us working for the smile, and it was worth it. Many times after a session I can pick my favorite image right away. With Sage, I am still making up my mind. The bottom two shots are tied for first today...

United Way Recognition

Tonight Brent and I attended the Capital Area United Way Awards Banquet in Lansing. I was honored and humbled to receive an award recognizing our photography services to the 2008 campaign and special projects.

It was great to be recognized, but I really feel so lucky to be able to share my gift with other people, and amazing organizations like the United Way, that it never really seems like work.

If your organization is in need of a photographer, or your would like to partner with us, please contact us at kristyandbrent@kristyphotography.com

Riley

Riley pretty much gives clarity to the phrase 'cute as a button'. Her smile is adorable, showing off her newly aquired teeth! We really love this family and are excited to live in a neighborhood with dedicated Spartan Fans! See you soon Riley.

Kashara

Brent continues to push his creative side creating beautiful and edgy images for model portfolios. Kashara is just starting to build her portfolio and I think she looks amazing in these shots. She has amazing eyes and her legs go on forever! We wish her the best of luck with her career and hope we have the chance to work with her again in the future.

Nicholas

For his six month session, Nicholas is starting to really enjoy tummy time. His sister was great at making him laugh, and he would use his entire body to smile. I am sure he will be sitting up by next month, so getting him to stay in one place will be a challenge soon!

Adorable Ashley

Our niece Ahsley is one of the cutest two and a half year olds I know. She makes sure to tell you that she will be three on her birthday (in May) and normally is a little pre-occupied for portraits. During a session with her little brother, she decided it was her time in the spotlight, and we caught a few amazing expressions. She is so much fun and I am so glad we get to see her so often.

Emma Lou

My sister Valerie and her daughter Emma spent the weekend with us and we had the chance to take a few portraits Sunday morning. Emma is such a smiley baby, it is so much fun making her giggle. She is already two months old, and she just keeps getting cuter! I can't wait until next month.

Elijah

It is hard for me to believe that three months have already gone by since I met little Elijah. He has a great personality, and his mom said he is a great baby. I love this bottom image, with his hair going every which way. He just seems like he is commenting on the unpredictable nature of his ever changing hair do.

Eve Expecting

Eve and her husband Mike are expecting a baby girl in May and took some time in the studio to create beautiful keepsakes. It was so much fun spending time with these two because they really gave me the chance to be creative. The intamacy of their relationship is truly beautiful and these images reallly capture that oneness.

Cole

At the end of our session with Cole, I doubt that anything would have starteled him from his deep slumber. For a few shots, he could barely keep his eyes open, and after a little rocking, was fast asleep. This bottom image is shortly after his nap began. (we even took off his socks and shoes with out waking him!) I love it. He is such a sweet little guy, and I am excited to see him grow!

Felicity

Saturday we had the chance to welcome our newest neighbor, Felicity. She is a beautiful little girl and her sisters adore her. During one of the images above, Ellie was singing to comfort her sweet baby and it was such a blessing to be a part of that moment. I truly believe the most beautiful sound in the world is a mother singing to her baby. I am sure that Ellie will be measuring all 525,600 minutes this year as a gift with her husband and three beautiful daughters. Thank you for sharing her with us.
