Amy

This weekend we had the opportunity to spend time with an awesome couple, Steve and Amy. (Brent graduated high school with Steve, so it is also fun to reminisce...) They are due with their second child, a little girl, in July. We really admire their faith in God and commitment to each other after facing a very difficult loss a little over a year ago. Their oldest daughter, Faith, was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) and survived only a month after she was born. After this tragic loss, Steve and Amy have become very active in spreading awareness about CDH, and helping to support other families who are going through the same challenges that they faced. To learn more about CDH, or to give, please visit, www.cdhsupport.org.

Tub Time with Nicholas

Babies + Bathtime = Cute. Add Nicholas' adorable little rolls and you get super cute images!! I am so blessed to live close to family, and I love photographing our handsome little nephew every month. He is now 8 months old, and crawls everywhere. The above towel shot was the only one we got where he was actually looking at me, and not his sister, cousin, random baloons being thrown into the air, his mom, the floor, the lights, or his escape route. So all in all, I am pretty happy we got that one!

Martha

Martha is crazy beautiful. She told me as we started her session that she was not very photogenic.... Who ever told her that is a liar. She is amazing and had some of my very favorite maternity shots ever. I also have total admiration for her coordinating outfits and beautiful eye makeup. (For those of you who don't know me very well, saying that I am not very skilled at the art of make up is an understatement!) This little girl is going to be gorgeous.

Kendall

Kendall is such a little sweetie. She slept all most the entire session, with little breaks for eating... I love to capture the emotions and new relationship between newborns and their parents. Kendall is definitely mommy's girl, with her adorable pink painted toe nails. At 8 days old, I can safely say, Kendall is going to be a girly girl. Bring on the tiara!

Three Months for Tessa

As we started her session, three month old Tessa decided that her fingers are very tasty treats, and she should try to put them in her mouth at every opportunity. One of the things I love about watching these little ones grow is the amount of change and personality that appears in the first year. At three months, little ones are just starting to smile more often, hold their heads up longer and wiggle a bit more. They are the little cherubs we imagine with rosy cheeks and little wings.. Tessa is no exception. She should have a halo.

Stephanie Expecting

Stephanie embodies the pregnancy glow. She is beautiful from the inside out and you feel happy just being around her. She and her husband are good friends of ours and it was really hard for me to choose favorites from this session! Visit her client gallery and see why.. www.kristyphotography.zenfolio.com

Whitney & Dan

Wow. This weekend we attended Dan & Whitney's wedding in Grand Rapids. The ceremony was at a beautiful and ornate chruch downtown at St. Mary's; followed by a reception at Eve at the B.O.B. These two locations were amazing to photograph and we seriously could have spent days taking pictures of these two. (I mean look at them!) The church had a peeling paint, old stone, stained glass and arched celiling feel to it, while the Eve at the B.O.B. was very edgy, contemporary, simple and striking. It was such a fun challenge to create portraits at the two very different places. At the reception, Brent and I were seated with two couples that are friends of ours, which made the reception so much fun! I even danced :) Congratulations Whitney and Dan! We wish you two all the best.

Keegan

Apparently I am very interesting because during Keegan's first session, he was alive, awake, alert, and entusiastic! He peed on both mommy and daddy and stayed awake the entire time. His mom and I thought that we would trick him (have you ever tried to trick a baby? It is much harder than it seems) and schedule another session for a morning when we knew he would fall fast asleep.... That did not happen, but we did catch this adorable sleepy shot right at the end. I also think Keegan has the cutest hair known to man. It says 'I am a baby, and I like to party.'

Amy & Brett

Even the rainy morning did not dampen the spirits of this awesome couple. The ceremony was the perfect length, and by the time we were ready for portraits, the sun was shining and it had warmed up enough for our hike around campus. (Amy was such a good sport walking to one of my favorite places for portraits in heels!) Congratulations you two, and have a great time on your honeymoon!
