Sarah & Ray - the Reception

Sarah and Ray celebrated their marraige on Saturday with friends and family at the Foote Family Farm in Haslett. It was an amazing place, and we had a lot of fun walking around and creating some beautiful images. The location was a dream and I could've photographed these two for hours. Ray has a great sense of humor, and Sarah, an amazing smile and sweet personality, so basically, my dream couple! The last shot above is kindof a crazy image I like to shoot during the first dance. I leave the shutter open, and zoom out with the camera lens, with a first curtain flash. Sometimes it turns out cool like this!

Sara & Andrew

Sara and Andrew's wedding was Friday evening at Genoa Woods in Brighton. The weather was perfect. Sunny, yet cool enough for guys in tuxedos. The flower girls dresses were handmade by the mother of the bride and were so precious. You can see the amazing smile on the younest flower girl above! I also thought I would throw in a detail shot, I don't normally post these on our blog, and thought it may be a nice change of pace... So here you go!

Amber & Jeff's Maternity Session

Amber and Jeff are expecting their first (a boy) in November. This afternoon we had the opportunity to help them remember this amazing time in their lives. Amber's belly was so perfectly round and cute, these images turned out beautifully! I can't wait to meet the new addition.

Baby Bea

Oh my gosh! This little girl is so full of sunshine, I could've gone with out the flash! Her smile is amazing and her hair is crazy, just like my son, so it made me love her even more. Beatrice is 5 months old and is very strong. She could hold herself up on her belly and is almost sitting. Normally, with little ones, I ask parents to bring all of their favorite outfits, and hopefully we can get through two or three before the baby decides that enough is enough! Beatice could've gone through an entire closet. She was amazing.

Sarah & Ray

What an amazing way to spend a Wednesday evening. Sarah and Ray were married at St. Thomas Aquinas, in East Lansing at 5pm. The ceremony was beautiful with close family and we made a trip to Frances Park in Lansing for sunset portraits. The two had their first date at the park, so it was so neat celebrating this new start at the place where it all began. The reception is this weekend, so look for more images to come! Congratulations Sarah and Ray.

Angela

Tuesday night we had Angela stop by for a Model session to try out some creative lighting techniques. It was a lot of fun and we found out that we go to the same church! The first and last images above are with a fabric wrap - a style of photography that we use for Maternity portraits or our Satin Session. A select number of Satin Sessions will be available this fall for married women. Look for more details coming soon!

Mercedes

Mercedes was so much fun to photograph. She has amazing eyes and I felt like we had so much in common! (although, I felt old and was much more nerdy than Mercedes in high school..) These are a few of the amazing shots we had during the evening. She has so many great facial expressions, that I know I will be referencing her session for a long time to come!

Nicholas

Janelle and Nicholas stopped by this afternoon for a Madonna Mother and Baby session. Nicholas is two weeks old and was happy and alert fro most of the session! He reminds me so much of his sister Ashely. The last image is my favorite, and when photographing naked babies - you have to be prepared for anything!

Call today for more information on our fall specials!

Cassie

Late Saturday night, Brent and I teamed up with a local model - Cassie - to try out our new lighting and some fabric wrap ideas. As always, Cassie is very dynamic and has great poses and comfort in front of the camera. This session was so much fun. We tried all kinds of creative styles and the above are a few of my favorites!

Asher

Asher and his mom Kim joined me in the studio yesterday for a few portraits and a madonna mommy and baby session. Brent and I just purchased a new lighting system and I was very excited to try it out. I think the results are beautiful, and I am so excited to try new and more artisitc things! Thanks so much Kim, Asher is such a sweetie!
