Tessa

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love what I do. Getting to spend time with innocent little babies brings so much joy to my life, and more than that, watching new moms with their tiny newborns is really amazing. Tessa was born on the 12th of February and has a beautiful full head of hair! She was a great baby during our session, very alert and happy. (Although I was hoping she would doze off for a few sleeping pictures. Maybe next time...)

Austin

We are constantly taking portraits of our son Austin. About once a month I come up with an idea to try out with him... sometimes it works, and sometimes we end up playing in the studio, but either way, I love being able to capture all those funny stages and his hilarious personality. These images were taken just after his first birthday in December. He was not walking yet, so playing in the big orange chair worked out great. Sometimes it is hard to hit the shutter with all the laughter. Anyway, I don't post a lot of his sessions, and thought I would share!

Rob

Now, I am not really that much of a baseball fan, but there is something adorable about a boy and a baseball. Rob was all about the glove and his dad's hat. He is such a happy little guy, I really could've taken pictures of him all day. He also reminded me a lot of our son, Austin. Blonde hair and blue eyes, and skinny... I really do miss those baby days! I am so lucky to be around babies all the time, and still sleep through the night. So to all you mommies, thank you for sharing your little angels with me!

Sloane

Every time I look at images of Sloane, I smile. She has such a great little grin and big beautiful brown eyes. I love the wagon and how excited she was to sit in it. For nine months old, she is very independent, and I will bet she will be walking soon!

Megan & Emily

Emily and her little sister Megan joined me in the studio for an 8 month portrait session for Megan. Emily is a great big sister, and these two are such beautiful girls with matching blue eyes and beautiful blonde hair! I fell in love with the feet picture, it looks so cute with little Megan crossing her feet like her big sister.

Andrew Jacob Rowley

Christine and Jake welcomed their baby boy, Andrew Jacob Rowley to the word very early Friday morning. He is a beautiful little guy and I felt so blessed to be able to visit and help them remember this amazing and special time. Chris and Jake are very special to me and it was great to see them as new parents. Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!

Mommy & Me

Nicholas and his mommy Janelle paid a visit for his five month portraits. I cannot believe how big he is getting, and how smiley he is right before, and right after we take pictures! Janelle had a few mommy and me shots with her daughter Ashley around five months old, so I was thrilled to help create these images with Nicholas!

Christine's Maternity Session

Christine has been my best friend since seventh grade and it was so great to have the chance to help her capture this amazing time in their lives. Chris and Jake have been dating since our sophmore year in high school and were voted most likely to get married for our senior class! I am so excited for them and know that they will make amazing parents! They are having a surprise and are due early March. Congrats you two!!

La Jolla Model Session

Friday afternoon Olivia and Monica hit the beach in La Jolla to expand their model portfolios. Brent is an awesome artist and I love how he used the beach and helped create some amazing images for these beautiful young women. Of course I couldn't help my self and ended up behind the camera a few times, but for the most part, I assisted with the reflector and posing which was a really fun experience. (On a side note, it may look sunny and warm, but the water was really cold, around 56 degrees, and it was only around 50 out. These are two very brave women!)

San Diego Zoo

Saturday morning Brent and I visited the world famous San Diego Zoo. Although it rained on and off during our visit, the animals were amazing and it was really cool to be that close to them. (and with the telephoto lens, we were able to get up close and personal!) Above are some of my favorites. Especially the Rhinos. Who knew that Rhinos cuddle!

Sea Lions

Today we spent the afternoon in La Jolla on the Pacific Coast. It was amazing and beautiful. We made a quick trip to Scripps Park, then to Children's Cove which protects a bunch of sea lions from the wind. I think they are so cute and playful, and one actually smiled at me! (ok, maybe all they do is smile, but it was pretty darn cute.) During the afternoon we shot with a couple of models, Monica & Olivia at Wind and Sea Beach. The shoot went really well, and I am sure I will post images shortly!
