Griffin

Griffin has a bit of anxiety when it comes to getting his picture taken. Mom and Dad have tried all kinds of different things to help him, but only pancakes and playing with all the toys upstairs made him the happy smiley baby he normally is! I feel like a big scary monster sometimes, like the Wizard of Oz with my flashing lights, distracting sounds and funny walls. Can you blame him for being a little freaked out? We were able to capture a few of his precious smiles, and I love the center image above.

Peck Family

When planning a family portrait over a month in advance, outdoors in Michigan, you never know what you are going to get. We lucked out with a beautiful, sunny afternoon and had a lot of fun with the Peck family. (and their little dogs too.)

Monroe Portrait

Emily, Zion and Blaze had a great session this morning for their Christmas portrait. What a smiley bunch. Blaze is six months old and Zion just turned 18mos, so we took some individual shots as well. I love fall, for the weather (crisp enough for a sweatshirt) and the adorable outfits!

Nicholas' Two Month Session

Nicholas is on the Month to Month, My First Year program. Every month they stop in for portraits. The third, sixth, ninth and 12th month are a bit longer than the others to capture all those milestones, but this session turned out just right. Nicholas is getting so big, and we almost had a smile out of him. Maybe next month!

Veronica

We are so blessed to live in a neighborhood with so many families. It seems that there is always someone pregnant or with a new baby! Justin and Veronica are expecting a boy this December. She looks great and it was so fun getting to spend time with this great couple.

Karlie

Karlie turned two this week and it seems like only yesterday that she was born. She is full of energy and was running all over the park. It was a good thing too, the mosquitos were out in force and one even bit me behind the ear. (It must have been desparate.) Susan and Jason had her all set to stand in the tree for the above image, and I think it is my favorite. I love how the pink just jumps out at you!

Vote

This morning as I was waiting in line to vote, I took some time to reflect on the amazing country that we live in. As I stood outside the precinct, there were no guns, shouting protesters, 'officials' to be sure we voted 'correctly'. What I did saw were American citizens from every different background. Old, young, moms with children, a man with a leader dog, a young woman in a wheel chair, black, white, every different nationality. What an amazing country and amazing responsibility to choose the next leader of our great nation. I have not missed an election since I turned 18, and feel blessed to be born in a country where we can freely vote, speak and worship God. I am glad to say that this morning by my vote, I honored all of these.
